ABOUT
Sachiko Oshima
Born and raised in Tokyo, I have lived in diverse locales such as Hong Kong, London, Paris, Chicago, Athens, and currently Dubai. Each new environment has profoundly shaped and enriched my personal and artistic perspective. The sunlight, the air, and the architectural details of each setting are uniquely different.
Like layers of paint on a canvas, these rich memories accumulate, blend, and merge into a unique aesthetic that I can truly call my own.
My creations explore the simple accents and textures of our surroundings—often overlooked but rich in character and pulsing with the positive energies of love and life. I am captivated by the surfaces of old buildings and the natural patterns and shapes that emerge from them. I extract emotions and compelling elements from what I see, experimenting with composition, color, and texture. Layers of paint are continuously concealed and revealed, forming a hidden story that emerges from the depths of my consciousness.
For commission projects, I draw inspiration from the ambiance and color combinations of the space, and most importantly, the lifestyle of my clients. My creative curiosity is enriched by my diverse experiences, which weave together varied cultural influences and aesthetic traditions into the core of my work.
My works have been exhibited at key international art fairs and acquired by private collectors across the globe.
